Raymond E. Houck

NORFOLK - Raymond Ellis Houck, 70, died June 9, 1996.

Born in Todd, N.C., Mr. Houck was the son of the late Ellis Raymond and Hazel Houck. He was a retired auto salesman. He was a member of First Church of God, Norfolk, the D.A.V. (NU)104 and The American Legion. He served in the military during World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Rachel Houck; a son, William Ray Houck of Norfolk; three stepsisters, Wanda, Francis and Fern; three brothers, Sam, Don and Jim Houck. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Sadie Houck.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Carl L. Cooper. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m today in the funeral home.
