Paul McKinley Cook, 69, of the 4100 block of Cornwallis Drive, died in Bayside Hospital on June 10, 1996.
He was born Oct. 19, 1926, in New Market, Tenn., and was the son of the late Paul McKinley Cook Sr. and Louise Jeffers Cook. He was the loving husband of Barbara Laird Cook. Mr. Cook was retired from the U.S. Navy after 26 years of service. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Branch (NU)60 and the Oceanview Seniors Golf Association.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by three daughters, Paula Cook, Gina Wickizer and Valerie Parker, all from Virginia Beach; three sons, Jeffrey Parker of Statesville, N.C., and Darryl Parker and Scott Parker, both of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, Michael Wilkins Jr., Russell Wickizer III, Somer Parker, Amanda Parker, Jessica Parker and Sean Parker.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Little Creek Amphibious Base Chapel with the Chaplain Charles Layne officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. June 25, 1996, in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the chapel at noon until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
