Etta White Howard, of the 2500 block of Jamaica Ave., died June 8, 1996, in her residence.
Mrs. Howard, a homemaker, was born in Swans Quarter, N.C., and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was the widow of John L. Howard and was predeceased by a son, Johnnie M. Howard.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruth N. Howard and Mamie H. Miller, both of Boston and Ruby P. Howard of Norfolk; two sons, James D. Howard of Norfolk and Richard C. Howard of Boston; two sisters, Beulah White Green of Washington, N.C. and Margaret White Burton of New York, N.Y.; a brother, Isiah White of Washington, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bethleham Baptist Church with the Rev. A.D. Wright presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The remains will be ready for viewing Thursday at 3 p.m. The family will assemble at the residence at 12:30 Friday for the procession. The remains will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Friday. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel is handling arrangements.
