WILLIAM F. MOTE

William Frederic ``Fred'' Mote, 82, who resided at Brighton Gardens, died Tuesday, June 11, 1996, at Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Mr. Mote was a retired civil service government inspector. In the 40's and 50's he was an accomplished amateur golfer from Ocean View and in his later years enjoyed playing golf and cards with his friends at Lake Wright Golf Course.

Survivors include two sons, J. Harry Mote and William E. Mote, both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Thelma Harris of Virginia Beach and Ethel Davis of Norfolk; a brother, James L. L. Mote Sr. of Florida; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Salem United Methodist Church Building Fund.
