Ervin Clyde Wilkins, 85, of the 400 block of Jackson St., died June 11, 1996, in his residence.
Mr. Wilkins, the widower of Virginia Holland Wilkins, retired from I.O. Hill and Company in 1980 as manager of the funeral home and furniture store after 56 years. He was born in Cypress Chapel, Va., to the late George Wallace and Nora Baines Wilkins. He was a member of Suffolk Christian Church and Baracca Sunday school class.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann W. Bunch of Suffolk; a brother, James W. Wilkins of Suffolk; two grandsons and their wives, Karl W. and Tina L. Bunch of Aberdeen, Md., and Eric L. and Priscilla Bunch of Suffolk; a great-grandchild, Jennifer Bunch of Artesia, N.M.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Michael D. Halley in Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and other times in the home of Ann W. Bunch, 1706 Colonial Drive, Suffolk. Memorial donations may be made to the Elevator Fund, Suffolk Christian Church, 216 N. Main St., Suffolk, Va. 23434.
