James Henry Shamblin, 82, of the 2700 block of Cylburn Ave., died June 9, 1996.
Mr. Shamblin, a retired laborer, worked for the Naval Base for 15 years. He had been retired for 34 years. He was a native of Norfolk and the widower of Florence Shamblin. He was a member of Oakwood Chapel Church of Christ, Norfolk.
Survivors include a daughter, Vandora Hicks; two grandsons, James Carey Taylor, Sean Connery Wilcoxson; a granddaughter, Denise Davis; two great-granddaughters, Chalan Vanice Peterson and James C. Taylor.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Oakwood Chapel Church of Christ by the Rev. Clifton White. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at the church at 11:45 a.m. Friday. The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Friday.
