Lola Privott Townsend, 99, a former resident of Rodgers Street, South Norfolk, died June 12, 1996.
Mrs. Townsend, the widow of Russell I. Townsend, was a native of Roper, N.C. She was a member of Chesapeake Avenue United Methodist Church, Chesapeake.
Survivors include a daughter, Margie Townsend Landers of Richmond; a son, Judge Russell I. Townsend Jr. of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Stephanie Townsend Farabow, Courtney Townsend Brown, Patricia Landers Fore, John David Landers; five great-grandchildren, Rachel Landers, Robert Fore, Joseph Fore, Townsend Brown, and Webster Farabow.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday by the Rev. John Andrews in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. The family will be at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m.
