Graduation ceremonies for two classes in logging safety will be held this week and next in Ahoskie and Elizabeth City.
The students have successfully completed timbering instruction sponsored by the ProLogger Program of the North Carolina Forestry Association. So far more than 1,000 professional woodsmen have taken the safety lessons.
The first graduation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday near Ahoskie in Hertford County. Doug Duncan, N.C. Forestry Association coordinator for the ProLogger program at 1-800-231-7723, will provide instructions for reaching the site.
The second ceremony will take place June 21 at a site near Elizabeth City. Robert Pippen, of J.W. Jones Lumber Company near Morgans Corner, will be available at 919-771-2497 to provide site location information. by CNB
