FANNIE B. COX

Fannie Mae Belcher Cox, 72, of the 200 block of Truxton Ave., died June 12, 1996.

Mrs. Cox, a native of Norfolk, retired as a federal government shipping clerk from St. Julian Creek Ammunition Depot after 21 years of service. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church, Portsmouth, for 65 years and a member of Usher Board (NU)2. Also she was a member of Jills Social Club, XYZ Senior Citizens, National Association of University Women, Alpha Beta Sigma Chapter and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority.

Survivors include her husband, James W. Cox Sr.; two sons, James W. Cox Jr. of Norfolk and Charles B. Cox of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Victoria A. Cox and Erin N. Cox, both of Portsmouth; two daughters-in-law, LaRue W. Cox of Norfolk; Theresa D. Cox of Portsmouth; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. John Baptist Church by the Rev. John E. Jones. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. today at Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The family will be at the home of her son, 603 Hansen Ave., Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the procession to the church. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
