Hilda F. Robinson, 75, of the 1900 block of Linster Street, died June 12, 1996, in Chesapeake Health Care Nursing Home.
She was born in Norfolk County to the late Lewis and Hazel Godfrey. She lived in Philadelphia for 45 years. She was the widow of Walter Robinson. She joined Resurrection Baptist Church, and sang in the church choir for 16 years. She joined St. Luke A.M.E., where she was a missionary, after returning to Chesapeake.
Survivors include three sisters, Madora E. Brown, Mattie Walston of Chesapeake, Barbara Townsend of Horntown, Va.; six brothers, Willie Godfrey, Lewis Godfrey, Artis Godfrey, Rudy Godfrey of Chesapeake, Josephus Godfrey of Virginia Beach and George Godfrey of Philadelphia; an aunt, Josephine Robinson of Chesapeake; and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Hilda Delores Gibson.
A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Luke A.M.E. Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Fitchett Funeral home is handling arrangements. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
