Mildred Virginia Jones Simmons of the 3700 block of Starlighter Drive died June 12, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Born in Chesapeake, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph N. Simmons Sr. of New London, Conn.; two daughters, Debrah L. Brown and Linda S. Carrington, both of Virginia Beach; four sons, Reginald D. Simmons, Ralph N. Simmons Jr., Ronald L. Simmons and Roderick J. Simmons, all of Norfolk; a sister, Lola Jones Amis; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Chatman Funeral Home Chapel, Norfolk, by the Rev. Kenneth Parker. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will meet at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home for the service.
