BRUCE C. BROWN

Bruce C. Brown, 70, of the 8300 block of Dan Court, died June 13, 1996, at a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Brown, a U.S. Navy chief petty officer, retired from the Navy in 1969. He served for 30 years. He was a native of Rockingham, N.C. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He retired in 1981 from CPO Club.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Merle E. Brown; two daughters, Dianne Einhorn of Virginia Beach and Tina L. Stevens of Norfolk; two sisters, Elaine Canipe and Joyce English, both of Rockingham; two brothers, Douglas Brown and Richard Brown, both of Rockingham; four grandchildren, Michelle Jenkins and Rodney Bruce Einhorn, both of Virginia Beach, William ``Chad'' Stevens and April E. Stevens, both of Norfolk; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Reuben S. Askew. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
