``The Wizard of Oz,'' an original musical adapted from the children's classic story, will be presented live at Willett Hall at 11 a.m. Thursday.
The production, the first in a special summer series for children, will bring to life Dorothy and her companions. It will re-create the famous adventures of the Tin Woodsman, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion, bringing them off the bookshelf and onto the stage.
The production's touring company is from the American Family Theater of Philadelphia, an organization that does children's theater across the nation and has received numerous awards over the past decade.
In 1990 the company represented the United States at the International Festival of Theater for Young People in Moscow.
Tickets for the one-time-only performance are $4 for children and $6 for adults. They are available at all Ticketmaster locations, including the Willett box office. For more information, call 393-5144. by CNB
