CRIME LINE

Local police are seeking public assistance in solving these cases: VIRGINIA BEACH

Catherine Wilson is wanted for shoplifting at a grocery store in the Hilltop area on May 5.

Wilson, 26, is described as black, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 130 pounds, with black hair to her shoulders.

She is known to stay at motels in Portsmouth and Norfolk. PORTSMOUTH

The Unimart store in the 4100 block of George Washington Highway was robbed at 2:30 a.m. May 16.

The robber, armed with a small black handgun, ordered a clerk to open the register and remove the cash. He then fled.

The suspect is described as black, about 22, 6 feet tall and about 150 pounds. He was wearing a black zip-up jacket and green camouflage army pants.

Police believe he also is responsible for robbing a 7-Eleven store in the 3200 block of George Washington Highway on May 20 and for robbing a 7-Eleven store in the 3500 block of Deep Creek Blvd. on May 15 and again on May 23.

A U-Haul Storage compound was broken into during the night of June 6 by thieves who cut through barbed wire on a fence and climbed over it.

They cut locks and entered about 30 storage units. The large number of stolen items included televisions, VCRs and a mink coat. CHESAPEAKE

A barge belonging to Dvorak Drilling Co. was vandalized sometime between May 24 and May 28.

The barge was on a job site in a lake next to the intersection of Blake Street and Byron Street.

More than $7,000 in drilling equipment was thrown into the lake and destroyed. HAMPTON

A carjacking occurred in the 400 block of Seminole Road on May 24.

The victim was in her car at 10:15p.m. when she was approached by two men . The first distracted her while the second placed a gun to her back and demanded the keys. The stolen vehicle was later recovered.

The first suspect is described as black, 17 to 23 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and with a medium build and short haircut.

The second suspect is described as black, in his early 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall and with a medium build.
