Irving D. Crudup Sr., 80, of the 2700 block of Pinewell St., died June 12, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.
He retired as a rigger for Norfolk Naval Shipyard after over 30 years of service. He was also employed at Rices-Nachman's department store for 10 years. A native of Norfolk County, he was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Portsmouth, a member and former chairman of the Deacon Board and former superintendent and teacher of the Sunday School. Also, he was a member of A.M. Jones Lodge (NU)79, Order of Masons.
Survivors include his wife, Doris I. Crudup; two sons, Irving D. Crudup Jr. of Hampton, Lawrence R. Crudup of Harrisburg, Pa.; a brother, Thirl Crudup of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Lawrence R. Crudup II, Lisa E. Crudup, both of Harrisburg; two daughters-in-law, Phyllis D. Crudup of Hampton and Lena E. Crudup of Harrisburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Mouth Carmel Baptist Church by the Rev. E.T. Knight. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, with Masonic Honors. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Monday. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
