SUFFOLK DRIVER KILLED

A 49-year-old Suffolk man was killed Sunday afternoon when the tractor-trailer he was driving ran off the road and hit a tree, state police said.

Forester D. Wakefield was headed north on Route 616, two miles north of Route 617, when the tractor-trailer ran off the left side of the road, crashed into the tree and overturned, police said.

Wakefield was trapped for a short time. He was carrying a load of feed when he crashed about 4 p.m.
