GEORGE H. PRICE SR.

George Herman Price Sr., 56, of 909 Wayland Drive, died Wednesday June 19, 1996, in Pitt Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Prince George County, Va., a member of Windsor United Methodist Church and a retired supervisor for Gillam Brothers Peanut Shellers. Mr. Price served eight years in the National Guard and retired from the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department with 20 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Gillam Price; a daughter, Lee Price Hoggard of Windsor; two sons, George H. Price Jr. of Rich Square, N.C., and Robert L. Price of Windsor; a daughter-in-law, Penny T. Price of Windsor; two sisters, Lucille P. Cowand of Merry Hill, N.C., and Elizabeth P. Peele of Pine Knoll Shores, N.C.; a brother, Eugene F. ``Red'' Price of Windsor; and two grandchildren, Courtney Price of Ahoskie and Scott Hoggard of Windsor.

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Edgewood Cemetery by the Rev. Ken Turner and the Rev. Clyde Denny. The family will receive friends at 909 Wayland Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bertie County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 74, Windsor, N.C. 27983, or to Roanoke-Chowan Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
