Ervin D. Snively, 82, of the 400 block of West First St., died June 19, 1996, in St. John's Hospital, Tulsa, Okla.
A native of Brimley, Mich., he lived in Norfolk and Independence, Kan. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown, U.S.S. Midway, sea planes and the MATS during his 23 years of service for his country he so loved. He was an active lifetime member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
Mr. Snively was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and William Snively, a sister and many brothers.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Lisa Snively; three daughters, Judy Snively Schloff of Chesapeake, Sandra Short of Norfolk, Sharon Sharer of Grove, Okla.; three sons, Jerome ``Jerry'' Snively of Vail, Colo., Thomas Snively of Yorktown, Va., Paul Pendergrass of Skiatook. He also had 13 loving grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many, many friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home, Skiatook. A chapel service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will be at Osage Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.
