Robert Steven Saunders, beloved brother and uncle, died peacefully Tuesday, June 18, 1996, in his home.
He was 54 years old and a native of Princess Anne County. He was retired from the U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.
Capt. Saunders was the son of the late William Clarence Saunders and Elizabeth Morrisette Saunders. He is survived by a brother, William Thomas Saunders and his wife, Patricia Williams Saunders of Woodbridge, Va. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Saunders Videll and her husband, Herbert F. Videll Jr. of Virginia Beach; seven nephews and three nieces.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. John F. Shappell in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with full military honors accorded at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
