Hugh Garfield Parker Jr., 74, of Harnett County, died Thursday, June 20, 1996, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Parker of the home; two sons, Hugh G. Parker III of Pueblo, Colo., Scott Wood Parker of Perrysburg, Ohio; a daughter, Anne Wood Portillo of Erwin; a sister, Marion Jean Torbenson of Minnesota; and a brother, James W. Parker of Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his brother, Karl John Parker.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday in Lillington United Methodist Church by the Rev. Stacey Graves. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the home of Mr. Parker, 405 Burkot Road, Buies Creek, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Harnett Co., P.O. Box 373, Erwin, N.C. 28339 or Lillington United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 506, Lillington, N.C. 27546.
