Elizabeth Meredith Whittle, 82, of the 3100 block of Shore Drive, died June 19, 1996, in her residence.
Mrs. Whittle was born in Virginia Beach. She was the daughter of the late George Minor Meredith and Elizabeth Madison Morrison Meredith. She was a life time member of Galilee Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach, and attended Oceana High School and Harrisonburg and Farmville State Teachers Colleges. Mrs. Whittle taught for two years at the Episcopal Cathedral School in Havana, Cuba and local schools.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. G. Slaughter Fitz-Hugh of Charlottesville, Va.; a brother, Hugh Stockdell Meredith of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery by the Rev. Russell Church Burchard, Associate Rector of Galilee Episcopal Church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Galilee Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, Box 847, Virginia Beach, Va. 23451 or to the Westminster Canterbury Fellowship Fund, 3100 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, Va. 23451. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd. Chapel, will be handling the arrangements.
