How nice that Chesapeake City Council members voted themselves the $10,000 pay raises they so richly deserve. Look at the progress the city has made in the past few years: no more crowded schools and all portable classrooms have disappeared; we have roads capable of handling all the traffic generated by unrestricted growth; our water is pure and plentiful; and all this with such low real-estate and property taxes.
We citizens of Chesapeake will be forever in debt to our council.
