ELIZABETH C. SUMMERS

Elizabeth Clements Summers, 64, of the 6600 block of Azalea Garden Road, died June 20, 1996, in her residence.

A native of Colonial Heights, Va., she was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Funk and Newton Lee Clements Sr. She was the widow of the late Robert Ernest Summers. Mrs. Summers was a retired registered nurse, having worked at Humana and Sentara Bayside Hospital. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Catholic High School in Petersburg and a graduate of the DePaul Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of St Pius X Catholic Church, a former executive director and board member of the Tidewater Girls Clubs, and a former board member of Camp Civitan's Triple C Lodge.

Survivors include a son, E. Toles Summers of Norfolk; a sister, Mary C. Nugent of Colonial Heights; two brothers, Gilbert M. Clements and Newton L. ``Sonny'' Clements, both of Petersburg; two grandchildren, Ashley Marie Summers and Kirra Elizabeth Summers of Harwich, Mass.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Pius X Catholic Church by Father William J. Dale. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. for a visitation with friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Triple C Lodge, c/o Frank Spicer, 119 E. Princess Anne Road, Norfolk, 23510, or to the Girls Incorporated Youth Center, 420 Woodway Lane, Virginia Beach, Va. 23462. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
