KEITH A. PICKENS SR.

Keith Arlan ``Slim'' Pickens Sr., 58, of 33487 block of Unity Road, died June 20, 1996, at his home, after a long illness.

Mr. Pickens was a native of Wichita, Kan., and had retired from the U.S. Navy as a first class fire controlman. He had been a truck driving instructor for A.T.I. of Virginia Beach. He was a member of Corinth Friends Meeting and the V.F.W. Post 4411.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Holt Pickens; two daughters, Cheryl Daughtry of Franklin and Murriel ``Ivey'' Pickens of Ivor; two sons, Keith A. Pickens Jr. and Jason M. Pickens of Ivor; his mother, Murriel H. Pickens Burrows of Dumas, Ark.; two sisters, Vera P. Warren of Kansas and Joann P. Leonard of Dumas; two grandchildren, Keith A. Pickens III and Morgan Daughtry.

A graveside memorial service with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Holt family cemetery on Unity Road, Ivor, with the Rev. Kenneth Thames officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is in charge of arrangements.
