James T. Farrell, 70, of the 4200 block of Hacienda St., died June 21, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Farrell, a native of Boston, Mass., retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as supervisor of shop (NU)56 after 20 years. He also retired after 20 years from the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Ann B. Farrell; three daughters, Mary E. and Michael Encarnacao of Chesapeake, Sgt. Patricia A. Farrell of Edward, Calif., and Kathleen M. Farrell of Chesapeake; three sons, James T. Farrell Jr., Robert G. and Linda Farrell, all of Norfolk, Dennis J. and Ruth Farrell of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Ruth Barkowski and Lillian Guarnotta, both of Massachusetts; and nine grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 9 a.m. Monday by Father William Dale in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A rosary service will be held at the funeral home Sunday at 7 p.m. where the family will remain to receive friends until 8:30 p.m.
