Nora L. Stephens Carr, 90, of North George Washington Highway, died June 19, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
She was a long time resident of Norfolk County and Chesapeake. She was retired from Sears and Roebuck. She was a very active member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and many religious organizations. She was a graduate of King's Wood Bible College.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Stephens of 42 years and Lollie K. Carr, her husband of 18 years.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth E. Stephens Sr. and his wife, Daphne; two grandchildren, Kenneth E. Stephens Jr. and his wife, Wanda, Yvette Stephens; a great-grandson, Ted Ambrose III, all of Chesapeake; a brother, Raymond J. Neal of Portsmouth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday in Deep Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Ernie Myers officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family suggest memorial contributions to the Hope Haven, P.O. Box 6185, Virginia Beach, Va. 23456.
