CALLAHAN PICKED TO LEAD LOCAL RED CROSS UNIT

Patrick Callahan of Frederick B. Hill, CPAs, will serve as 1996-97 chairman of the board of the Portsmouth/West Chesapeake Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Callahan succeeds Arthur Brandriff, principal of Western Branch High School.

Other officers for the year include Sara Stewart of Internists of Churchland, vice chairman; Barbara Preddy, retired Red Cross staff, chairman of volunteers; Starr Oliver of Commerce Bank, secretary; Horace Savage, restored school administrator, treasurer.

New board members include the Rev. Melvin Marriner, pastor of Grove Baptist Church; John Tynch, president of Tidewater Castings; Jack Sundholm, manager of J.C. Penney at Chesapeake Square; and Peggy Whitehurst, who is retired from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. by CNB
