A variety of artwork, including an ongoing performance piece, is being shown at the Visual Art Center of Tidewater Community College at the corner of High and Court streets.
Dan Smith's performance art, ``InCarNation,'' will conclude with a segment open to the public at 11:30 a.m. July 8.
Smith also has created an installation that includes works from his series, ``Man/Land'' and ``Extended Sites,'' that are analytical and emotional responses to his travels in the United States. His larger-than-life watercolor works are exhibited in the Hallway Gallery.
Sean Stewart, a former TCC student, has an exhibition of woodcuts and linocuts in the Conference Room Gallery. His work is inspired by popular imagery and literary sources including ``Alice in Wonderland'' and Franz Kafka's ``Metamorphosis.''
The TCC galleries are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The center will be closed July 4. For information, call 396-6999. ILLUSTRATION: Photo of linocut
