JENNIE S. LIPFORD

Jennie S. Lipford, of the 500 block of Mt. Vernon Ave., died June 21, 1996.

She was a native of Chatham, Va., and a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk. She was a member of the church's missionary society, the senior choir (sanctuary choir), and advisor for the Sunshine Band. She was also a member of United Order of the Tent Cassandra (NU)139, Portsmouth.

Survivors include a son, Clifton Wilson Banks and his wife, Velma Banks, of Portsmouth; two sisters, Rhada Rylander of Hampton, Vannie R. Davis of Fairfax, Va.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; adopted daughter, Gladys Jones of Portsmouth; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday by Dr. I. Joseph Williams in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 4005 Timberland Drive, Merrifields Section, Portsmouth, Wednesday at noon for the funeral procession. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge.
