OLIVE L. HOLLOWELL

Olive Bernice Lane Hollowell, 91, of the 400 block of Pennington Blvd., died June 21, 1996, at her residence.

She was a native of Perquimans County, N.C., and taught school there many years ago. She was a Methodist.

A wonderful mother and loved by her family and friends, she was the widow of Ernest Crowder Hollowell. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Bernice H. Briggs and Frank of Chesapeake, Minnie H. Costner and Rudy of Portsmouth; three grandsons, Neal Costner of Portsmouth, Thomas H. Briggs and his wife, Linda, of Elizabeth City, N.C., Frank T. Briggs and his wife, Vicki of Chesapeake; five great-granddaughters, Julie B. McKinley and her husband, Mark of Ohio, Amanda and Katie Briggs of Elizabeth City, and Jennifer and Monica Briggs of Chesapeake; two sisters, Johnnie L. Salmon of Suffolk and Mattie L. Madrey of Perquimans County, N.C.; five nephews and three nieces.

A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Joseph G. Savinsky. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m.
