BANKING
Tiffany K. Glenn was promoted to marketing officer at the Bank of Hampton Roads, Greenbrier office. She was previously an accounting officer with the bank and will continue to oversee its stock transfer department.
Katherine D. Hubbard was promoted to vice president at Signet Bank. She joined the bank in 1986 and moved to the small business division in 1991. She now manages the segment relationships for the Newport News market.
CONSTRUCTION
Michael T. Fippinger was named vice president/senior project manager for Abante Corp. in Norfolk. Prior to this, he was a project manager for Richard Beach Builder Inc., Newport News, and vice president for CBC Enterprises Inc., Norfolk.
Also, Andrea Lopez was named office manager and Ann T. Mears, finance manager at Abante. Lopez was previously employed by CBC Enterprises. Mears was with HB Inc. in Virginia Beach and R.F. Knight Electric, Chesapeake.
Steven F. Valdivieso, formerly vice president of development at R.G. Moore Building Corp., was promoted to senior vice president of construction and development. He joined the building company in 1984.
Also, Cynthia V. Kanzenbach was promoted to vice president of construction and warranty at R.G. Moore. She was formerly production coordinator/warranty manager.
And, Connie Tache Francisco was named vice president of real estate sales at the company. She was formerly with the law firm of Shuttleworth, Ruloff and Giordano in Virginia Beach.
ENGINEERING
William C. Forbes was named environmental director at Bengtson, DeBell & Elkin in Virginia Beach. He will manage projects involving environmental engineering for water and wastewater systems, environmental impact statements and site assessments. Prior to this, he was director of engineering at Patton Harris Rust & Assoc. in Virginia Beach.
HEALTH CARE
Ashlyn Brandt was named an associate development officer for the Office of Development at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Prior to this, she was a regional director for the American Diabetes Association in Columbus, Ga.
Suffolk City Council named Lee A. Hernquist as that city's representative on the board of visitors of the Medical College of Hampton Roads, the governing body of Eastern Virginia Medical School. He will serve a three-year term and succeeds Hubert H. Young Jr. Hernquist is senior vice president/investments at Wheat First Butcher Singer Inc.
LAW
John C. McLemore was named a partner in the firm of Livesay & Isley in Portsmouth. The firm will now be known as Livesay, McLemore & Isley. He was previously a member of the Chesapeake firm of Faggert & Frieden. He will continue to practice in the areas of banking, bankruptcy, real estate, business transactions and commercial litigation.
ORGANIZATIONS
Raynor T. Parker, president of Tidewater Crane & Rigging Co. in Virginia Beach, was elected chairman of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association.
Shelia Harrison, director of marketing for The Mariners' Museum in Newport News, was named to a two-year term as director-at-large for the Virginia Association of Museums Council.
MEDIA
Four executives of the Daily Press were promoted to vice president positions. Editor Will Corbin was appointed vice president and editor. He has been editor of the newspaper since 1994 and had served as managing editor since 1987.
Phil Valenti, formerly circulation/production director, was promoted to vice president/circulation and production. He has been a circulation director of the Daily Press since 1988.
Gene Park will serve as vice president/administration. He was previously the chief financial officer and finance director.
And, LaDonna Wade was promoted from human resources director to vice president/human resources.
REAL ESTATE
Denise Taylor was appointed assistant controller at Divaris Real Estate in Virginia Beach. She was formerly an administrative assistant with Crestar Bank.
John Duffy was named an office leasing agent at Divaris. Most recently, he was a major account district manager for Automatic Data Processing Inc. in Virginia Beach.
And Matthew Bessette was promoted to director of accounting for Divaris Property Management Corp. in Virginia Beach. His duties will include preparation of operating budgets and financial statements. He was most recently with S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. in Norfolk.
Goodman Segar Hogan Hoffler named Steve Saunders property manager. He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of office and warehouse properties. He was previously a property manager with Robinson Sigma in Norfolk.
