LAURA V. LASSITER

Laura Vann Lassiter, of the 900 block of E. Princess Anne Road, died June 21, 1996, in a local hospital.

She was a native of Gates, N.C. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk. She was involved in the Sunday school department, the missionary society, joint prayer band, dial of prayer, noon prayer service, and the widow/-widowers club. She always loved to talk about the Bible.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah S. Walker of Norfolk; a son, Raymond Lassiter, and wife, Fanny, of Chesapeake; two sisters, Olivia Baker of Syins, N.Y., and Mildred Wiggins of Norfolk; a brother, Lee Vann of Gates; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other devoted relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday by Dr. I. Joseph Williams in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 525 Dinwiddie St., Norfolk. Burial will be in Taylor Family Cemetery, Gates. Family and friends will assemble at 1809 Cullens Ave., Chesapeake, Tuesday at 11 a.m. for the funeral procession to the church. The body will be placed at the church at 10 o'clock on Tuesday morning. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk, is in charge.
