HERBERT JOHNSON SR.

Herbert ``Buck'' Johnson Sr., of the 1000 block of Oaklawn Ave., died June 21, 1996, in Norfolk.

Mr. Johnson was born in Scotland Neck, N.C, and was retired from ILA (NU)1458. He was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Norfolk and the Male Usher Board.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Mae Johnson; four sons, Herbert Johnson Jr., Michael Johnson, William Henry Johnson, Larry Johnson, all of Norfolk; two sisters, Mamie Rutherford and Annie May Hogland, both of Trenton, N.J.; three brothers, Frank Johnson of Scotland Neck, Percy Johnson and Joseph H. Johnson, both of Trenton; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Tierie Johnson, father, Edward Johnson and a sister, Mary Johnson.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church by Dr. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 1031 Oaklawn Ave. at 2 p.m. for the funeral procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
