Stella M. Hare, 80, of the 2600 block of Powell Circle, died June 22, 1996, in her residence.
She was a native of Craven County, N.C., and was the widow of George E. Hare. Mrs. Hare was a member of Oceanview Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Pauline Smith of Vanceboro, N.C., Shirley Taylor of Garden Grove, Calif., Patricia Ligon of Mathews and Sharon Hosmer of Gloucester; a son, James T. Hardee of Chesapeake; a sister, Lily Bennett of Edwards, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum by the Rev. W. Thomas Wood. The family will be at Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, from 7 to 8 p.m. today for visitation. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
