Rufus ``Pappy'' Pritchett, 61, of the 2600 block of Yale Court, died June 18, 1996 at home.
He was born in Edwards, N.C.
Survivors include his wife, Heather Pritchett; five daughters, Corrine Stilley of Newport News, Ginine Fields of Greenville, N.C., Shirley Hyman and Crystal Dixon, both of Chesapeake, and Nila Pritchett of Virginia Beach; three sons, Rufus Pritchett of Chesapeake, Troy Pritchett of Norfolk and Christopher Pritchett of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Blanche Gray of South Hill, Va., and Clarie Pritchett of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four brothers, Henry Pritchett, William Pritchett and James Pritchett, all of North Carolina, and Curly Pritchett of Maryland; 11 grandchildren; a son-in-law, Gary Cutler of Norfolk; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Bernadine Cutler.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Riverside Cemetery. Pretlow & Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
