Michael Douglas ``Doug'' Symons, 13, of the 400 block of W. Farmington Road, died June 22, 1996, in his home.
Doug was born in Portsmouth.
Survivors include his father, John F. Symons, Sr.; four brothers, John F. Symons, Jr., U.S. Navy stationed in Pensacola, Fla., Thomas K. Symons, U.S. Army stationed in Korea, Brian E. Symons and Steven S. Symons of Virginia Beach. He was preceded in death by his sister, Holly M. Symons.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 8 a.m. at the Naval Air Station Oceana Base Chapel by Chaplain Tokar. Burial will be at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Edmarc Children's Hospice Programs or the United Leukodystrophy Foundation. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
