LILLIAN B. CLERE

Lillian Bell Clere, 77, of the 4500 block of County St., died June 24, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mrs. Clere was born in Winding Gulf, W.Va., and was the widow of John H. Clere. She was a Methodist and a retired beautician. She was predeceased by a son, Jack Clere.

Survivors include three daughters, Audria Jarvis and Linda Fleming, both of Portsmouth, and Gail Harper of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, Jim Clere of Bradenton, Fla., and Henry Clere of Richmond; two sisters, Vivian Johnson of Chesapeake and Ruth Baggett of Portsmouth; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Thornton M. Frye in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is in charge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m.
