WARREN O. JOHNSON

Warren Odie Johnson, 75, of the 1700 block of Mathews Terrace, died Tuesday, June 25, 1996, in his residence.

He was born in Marlington, W.Va., and was retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer after 20 years of service. Following his naval service, he later retired as a lead man in Shop No. 67 at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after more than 20 years. He was a member of Park View United Methodist Church and the Norfolk Fleet Reserve, Branch 40.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Margaret Johnson; a son, Mark S. Johnson of Portsmouth; a stepdaughter, Betty June Cornwell of Fort Lauderdale, Fla; two stepsons, Dennis Counts of Jonesboro, Tenn., and Eugene Counts of Houston, Texas; a sister, Edna Weatherholt of Marlington, W.Va.; and four grandchildren.

A graveside funeral with military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk. The family will be at the Cox Funeral Home in Norfolk Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation.
