Edgar M. Carroll Sr., 95, of the 5900 block of Powhatan Ave., died June 24, 1996.
Mr. Carroll, a native of Georgetown, Texas, was the widower of Jean T. Carroll. He retired from Texaco Inc. in 1966 as a tester after 48 years of service. He was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Edgar M. Carroll Jr. of Norfolk; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Williams Twiford of Fayetteville, N.C., and Thelma Twiford Simmons of Virginia Beach; a brother-in-law, Archie R. Twiford of Norfolk; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. Bruce Carper in Riverside Memorial Park. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge.
