The Coast Guard and two ships went to the aid Tuesday of four men who were stranded on a 42-foot sailboat about 350 miles east of Cape Hatteras.
The four, who were sailing from Bermuda to Mattapoisett, Mass., were in good condition and were taken aboard the 530-foot cruise ship Royal Majesty about 4 p.m. and should arrive in Bermuda today.
All four men are from Gloucester, Mass.
Coast Guard officials in Portsmouth received a distress call from the sailboat Triad about 7 a.m. The boat had lost its mast and had a large hole in its deck. A Coast Guard plane located the disabled sailboat. The 840-foot commercial ship Venetia helped at the scene. by CNB
