A Chesapeake minister was acquitted Tuesday of taking indecent liberties with a 10-year-old girl during a church reunion last year in Camden County's South Mills.
Frederick Wesley Hill III, 35, of the 1000 block of Canal Road, was found not guilty by a Superior Court jury after about 10 minutes of deliberations at the Camden County Courthouse.
``He is just enormously relieved with the outcome of this case, but he still has more to face,'' said Donna S. Forbes, an Elizabeth City attorney who represented Hill.
Hill has at least five charges pending in Chesapeake, including three counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor and two counts of aggravated sexual battery.
When Hill left the courthouse in Camden, some angry parents yelled at him as he walked to his car.
The alleged victims in all of the cases are girls who were members of Unity Full Gospel Baptist Church on Battlefield Boulevard in Chesapeake.
The South Mills incident was alleged to have taken place during a church trip in September 1995. The Chesapeake charges stem from incidents from August 1989 to September 1995.
A hearing on the Chesapeake cases is scheduled for Aug. 8.
