SUFFOLK - CRIME REPORT

DISTRICT A

Breaking and entering, 6000 block College Drive, June 13, someone entered a residence by prying open the front door. A ring and bracelet valued at $1,100 were removed.

Bombing attempt, 4200 block Dayle Acres Drive, June 14, someone driving a Ford Tempo threw a plastic bottle onto the front yard of a residence. It exploded as it hit the ground. The bomb was constructed of muriatic acid and aluminum foil stuffed inside a plastic bottle.

Grand larceny, 100 block Sleepy Ridge Court, June 17, someone removed a Best mortar mixer and a six-foot Burke scaffolding assembly from a construction site.

DISTRICT C

Breaking and entering, 800 block North Main St., June 18, someone entered a trailer by cutting the bolt from a lock. Between 150 and 200 used tires were removed. Each was marked with yellow chalk displaying the tire size with the diameter and wall size.

Breaking and entering, 800 block North Main St., June 19, someone attempted to enter a storage trailer containing tires.

Felony vandalism, 400 block North Main St., June 19, someone knocked over 12 tombstones in a cemetery.

DISTRICT D

Breaking and entering, 2200 block East Washington St., June 13, someone entered the back window of an apartment and removed a VCR tape of a Tina Turner movie.

Lost/stolen, 600 block East Constance Road, June 13, someone went to a business to trade in a vehicle. When he returned the next day, his Suffolk city sticker was missing from the car.

Breaking and entering, 200 block Carolina Road, June 14, someone disabled a burglar alarm and removed about $200 worth of cigarettes from a vending machine in an office.

Petty larceny, 100 block South Main St., June 14, someone entered a vehicle by breaking out the passenger side window and removed a Virginia state inspection sticker.

Petty larceny, 100 block Franklin St., June 14, someone entered a vehicle by breaking out the driver's side window and removed a Suffolk city decal.

Breaking and entering, Madison Street Extension, June 14, someone entered two warehouses by breaking out a window with a brick and removed about $900 worth of copper wire and tubes. Several thousand dollars in damage was done to electrical equipment.

Stolen firearm, 200 block South Division St., June 15, someone removed a Winchester .12-gauge shotgun.

Petty larceny, 200 block Holladay St., June 17, someone removed both license plates from a vehicle.

Motor vehicle theft, 700 block Carolina Road, June 19, someone removed a black '87 Kawasaki motorcycle from a carport attached to a residence.

Armed robbery, Heritage Acres, June 19, a pizza delivery driver was making a delivery when three men approached him and demanded money.

DISTRICT E

Lost/stolen, 8600 block South Quay Road, June 15, someone reports his front Virginia license plate lost or stolen.

DISTRICT F

Grand Larceny, 500 block Kilby Shores Drive, June 15, someone broke out a car window and removed a Kenwood detachable face cassette player and a Uniden Pro 538W CB radio.

Breaking and entering, Airport Road and Route 32, June 15, someone pried open a concession stand window and removed about $20 worth of items. The boys' bathroom was also vandalized with spray paint on the walls.

Armed robbery, 100 block Forest Glen Drive, June 19, someone gained entry to a residence by forcing open a west side door. One inside, someone removed a black and yellow Napa battery charger, a gray bottle jack, and a seal installer. ILLUSTRATION: SUFFOLK CRIME LINE

Detective E.C. Harris asks your help to find the persons

responsible for the theft of a large quantity of used tires.

On June 17, thieves entered a storage trailer at Tidewater Tire

Service, in the 800 block of North Main St. It contained a large

number of tires: 13-inch, 15-inch and 16-inch. They had yellow

chalk markings on the tread.

If you have information concerning this theft or if you know the

whereabouts of any of the stolen tires, call Suffolk Crime Line at
