Local residents turned out to help make the launching of the 63-foot Fifth Day a celebration. The vessel is loaded: It has a lounge with white carpeting and seats upholstered in white leather. Visitors who toured the yacht were asked to remove their shoes. It has three bedrooms, each with its own bath, mirrored walls and cedar-lined closets. The galley has a bread maker, an ice maker, a microwave and a range.
Five woods were used in the constuction, builder George M. Hines Jr. said. The boat is powered by two 1,200-horsepower Mann diesels and is expected to have a maximum speed of 40 knots. The owners, Paul and Lois Ann Chapman, live in Bellair Beach, Fla. ILLUSTRATION: A crane lowers the luxury yacht Fifth Day into
Bennett's Creek in Suffolk. Hines-Farley Offshore Yachts took three
years to build the 60,000-pound vessel at a cost of about $3
million. The owners, a retired veterinarian and his wife, live in
Florida.
