MARCELLUS B. BRACEY

Marcellus Benjamin Bracey, of the 5800 block of Burton Station Road, died June 23, 1996.

Mr. Bracey was born in Norfolk County and was retired from Naval Supply Center. He attended First Baptist Church, Campostella, and was a member of the Deacon Board, Senior Missionary Circle, Male Chorus, and Choir (NU)1. He was also a Sunday School teacher. Mr. Bracey was chaplain of Campostella Senior Citizen League, a member of Campostella Heights Civic League and the Masonic Lodge Ebenezer (NU)66 P.H.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie B. Bracey; four daughters, Eleanor B. Elliott of Virginia Beach, Bessie Shannon of Norfolk, Bettie Proffitt of New York, and Mary M. Murphy of Alexandria, Va.; two sons, Lessell Bracey Sr. and Bruce Bracey, both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Elsie Goode of Norfolk and Blanche Spence of Chesapeake; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Harold Cason Sr. in First Baptist Church Campostella, Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
