JOSEPH O. STUART

Joseph O. Stuart, 88, of Naples, Fla., died at his Arbor Trace residence on June 18, 1996.

Mr. Stuart was born and raised in Stafford County, Va. Prior to retiring in Naples in 1969, Mr. Stuart resided in Kenwood, Bethesda, Md., where he owned and operated JO & CM Stuart Company Inc., a large highway construction company in Washington, D.C.

He was a member of the Moorings Presbyterian Church in Naples. Joe was also a member of the Royal Poinciana Golf Club of Naples and a lifetime member of the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda. During World War II, Mr. Stuart initially served as a civilian consultant for the construction of airports in England and later joined the Navy and served as a SeaBee.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Payne Stuart; daughter, Mary Catherine Stuart of Naples; three nephews, Thomas L. Segar of King George, Va., John S. Sowers of Laurel, Md., and Charles Mason Stuart Jr. of Mayo, Md.

Funeral services are pending at Hodges Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 4612 Dominion Road, Naples, Fla. 33941.
