Herbert T. Callis, 85, died Tuesday, June 25, 1996, after an 18-month stay in Lake Taylor Nursing Home.
Mr. Callis was retired from the Supply Center, Naval Base, Norfolk. He resided at his home in the Norview section of Norfolk until he moved into a nursing home in 1993.
He is survived by a cousin, Eula Lewis of Mathews County, Va., and his close friends and ``guardians,'' Clay and Catherine Parker.
Mr. Callis was a member of the Road to Emmaus Church where his service will be held Friday, June 28, at 11 a.m. with viewing just before the service. The Rev. Warren Singleton will preside. Burial will be in Haynes Cemetery at Cobbs Creek in Mathews County. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge.
