Nags Head police are investigating a burglary at a local real estate office in a model home.
The burglary occurred between 5 p.m. Monday and 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nags Head Police Chief Charles Cameron said, when someone kicked in a downstairs door at the Village Realty office in the Village of Nags Head.
The burglars made off with at least $12,000 worth of office equipment, including a copy machine, computer system, telephones and other items.
``We don't believe that this house was selected at random,'' Cameron said. ``They took virtually everything that was electronic in nature.''
About $1,500 in damage was done to the three-story structure.
Anyone with information about the break-in should contact the Nags Head Police Department at 441-6386.
