Cassaundra Yvette Poore, 19, and Melissa Keerstin Poore, 16, both of Virginia Beach, died June 21, 1996.
Cassaundra was a housekeeper at the Travelers Lodge and Melissa was a rising junior at Green Run High School.
Cassaundra is survived by a daughter, Meshawn Burks of Virginia Beach. Both are survived by their father, Melvin L. Blakely; three brothers, Michael Poore, Timothy Poore and Melvin Blakely Jr., all of Virginia Beach; a natural father, Wilbur Poore; a maternal grandmother, Miss Margaret Hendly of Memphis, Tenn.; various aunts and uncles; and a special friend, Sarah Staton.
The family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach, Saturday from 7 to 8 p.m. Cassaundra and Melissa will then be sent to M.J. Edwards and Sons Funeral Home in Memphis, Tenn., for funeral services and burial in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
