POLICE ARREST 3 MEN, SEIZE CASH, DRUGS, OTHER GOODS OFFICERS WERE EXECUTING SEARCH WARRANTS IN PARK PLACE AND GHENT.

Police arrested three men and seized $500,000 worth of drugs, cash and other merchandise during two drug busts Wednesday in Park Place and Ghent, police said.

Police were executing two search warrants when they recovered the goods. Among the items were 5.7 kilograms of cocaine, 14 ounces of marijuana, $8,000 in cash, five semiautomatic pistols, three revolvers, 30 cellular phones, a night-vision scope, four video surveillance cameras and a device used to clone and steal cellular phone numbers, said police spokeswoman Maravia Ebong.

Arrested were Collins Miller III, 27; Brian Mason Merrick, 22; and Shawn Turner Davis, 25. All are from Brooklyn, N.Y., Ebong said.

They were arrested during an ongoing investigation. During the bust, officers forcibly entered an apartment in the 600 block of Graydon Ave. and another residence in the 200 block of W. 27th St. on Wednesday afternoon. Miller and Mason were living in the Graydon Avenue apartment. Davis' last known address was in the 300 block of East Little Creek Road.

Miller and Merrick each face seven charges, including possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute, unlawfully possessing and manufacturing a telecommunications device and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Other charges are pending.

Davis was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and unlawfully manufacturing a telecommunications device. No other charges are pending for Davis.

The arrests were made by Cliss Bynum and Ralph Irby of the department's Vice and Narcotics Squad, Ebong said.
