Staff writer Debra Gordon's report, ``Beloved doctor packs his bags for quest in North Carolina'' was very complementary to this great physician and teacher; however, she should have reported a trend that is affecting all of America's medical specialists.
The managed-care takeover has broken the spirit of our medical community. Now our physicians are struggling to find their places in this heretical medicine era.
I'm sure Dr. David Johnson has made the most perfect resolution for himself and his family because we all will learn eventually that expensive heart surgery and HMOs do not share common ground.
